JJ, whatever we're like in our visions ain't gonna...

[ He kind of pauses, considering. ]

Are ya connected ta my planet somehow?

I'm not. If the guy that looks like me in those visions is though, would your opinion of me start to change? Would you like me less? Just how much would they affect us?

... I ain't gonna lie ta ya, I don't know fer sure. The more o' them visions I watch, the more I can feel my own thoughts shiftin' 'round in my head. Priorities changin' an' I've been gettin' more an' more desperate ta work out if I even gotta do anythin' or not.

But JJ, you in some other place an' you here are two different people. Even I'm smart 'nuff ta work that out. I ain't lookin' ta change what we got into what we had- whatever it was.

[ Huffs out a breath, slow. ]

[Relaxes marginally against the sheets at that]

[ Kissing him on the cheek, just under his eye before rolling onto his side again when JJ doesn't look like he's about to flee the bed. ]

... Is it that bad? That ya think I'd turn on ya that easily?

You threatened to put a bullet in my head if I didn't tell you where some guy was, so.

[Reaches out for a pillow, dragging it closer to bury his face in it with a groan]

[ Shifting to rest his head on JJ. ]

I mean, I probably didn't hate ya specifically? I drew a gun on a fella after sneakin' on board his ship. Called it my way of sayin' hello.

... Ain't tryin' ta say it weren't wrong ta, jus'... reckon he got a reason fer bein' the way he was by that point.

[Tilts his head just enough for one eye to be visible]

My vision guy doesn't exactly seem to have a great track record for being liked. Can you blame me for being a little nervous?

He ain't got yer stellar charm?

... He ain't ya an' ya ain't 'im. Jus' like I ain't the guy I used ta be, no matter how much my body's changin' ta become his.

[Turns more so both eyes are visible now, reaching down to card a hand through Nick's hair]

I don't feel charming most days.... And good. I think I just needed to hear that.

Ya ever need me ta repeat it, I happily will.

[ Hums softly at the touch. ]

Reckon I can feel ya a lil on that though... I ain't got it nearly as bad as ya, but the industry ain't real kind ta people who don't give it a perfect face.

[Makes a small noise of agreement]

I've been focused on giving perfect face for half my life now.

That many years wears down a fella. Yer left wonderin' if it's still a mask or jus' you now.

[ Tracing his human fingers over JJ's back in lazy shapes for a moment, then. ]

... My language is a helluva lot more colorful when I ain't watchin' my words, y'know. Reckon I could make a sailor cry if I gave it a good try.

I'd pay to see that. Not directed at me, of course.

I've let slip a couple o' times 'fore. That's why I've had ta move my work station ta different salons.
